Winchcombe Museum is an integral part of Winchcombe Town Trust, which was originally established in 1890 as a custodian of the then redundant Old Town Hall building. It also received various assets, including a cheque for £12 8s and 6d!.
This was a charity registered with the Charity Commission. The Trust has now re-formed as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (“CIO”). It was incorporated on 16th May 2017 with a new registered number 1173052. It has a board of Trustees who manage the Trust and supervise its activities.
The Trust has its main activity based at the Old Town Hall, High Street, Winchcombe, GL54 5LJ
Running Winchcombe Museum and providing related educational opportunities
Looking after all of its assets including the museum building
Supporting the local community of Winchcombe
The current trustees have a broad skill base but recognise the need to add further expertise to help steer the future development of this small but very important charity that is responsible for the Winchcombe Museum. The Board meets quarterly with ad hoc meetings as and when required.
We are looking to strengthen the Board by recruiting trustees with experience in a variety of disciplines such as finance, marketing and communications and governance but importantly we need individuals who have an interest in Winchcombe and its community. Previous experience of operating in a charity sector would be useful but not essential. If you are interested in discussing this exciting opportunity please email directly to Paul Hazel, Chairman, at pm.hazel@binternetnet.com.
The Museum is also looking to expand the dedicated team of volunteers who help operate the museum on a practical level. If you would like to learn more about how you can help please email info@winchcombemuseum,org.uk
